Watermelon tulips! They just happened to bloom the Watermelon tulips! They just happened to bloom the day after valentines which meant I enjoyed them myself! And normally if I'm enjoying blooms it's because the boys have picked them out of the compost, as I try to sell every stem we grow. I was stunned at how much they DELIGHTED me! I know I love flowers, I grow looots of flowers, I arrange flowers, and hopefully I sell flowers. But sometimes I wonder if these flowers really are as great as I say? Do they really bring color and joy to peoples lives? Perk up days? Give a little hope for tomorrow? Well I was reminded of how much joy and beauty they bring to me as I was able to savor them in my own home for days! The deepest purple doubles (multiple layers of petals) that turn into burgandy as they open, and the perfect light pink doubles from right here in Cashmere, WA. It's been a crazy week around here! 10 minutes int It's been a crazy week around here! 10 minutes into our wreath decor party the power went out, I lit all of my candles...7 in total😂 and we carried on. And it was the best! Usually there is a lot of indecision and watching others, not with the lights out, everyone just made it happen and it was so fun! Tulip planting time happened this weekend! We usua Tulip planting time happened this weekend! We usually have them in before the 1st of November, but this time made it feel like a holiday:) 4,000 in and waiting on another 1,000 to plant. This year we did the dump method...instead of placing each bulb individually, we've been told it works @dirtonflowers and it saved us hours of time! I have been referred to as Frugal Frances by frien I have been referred to as Frugal Frances by friends, and since this is one of my middle names (yes I do have two of them😉) I would say it fits pretty well. I LOVE solving problems with out buying new things. Which is one of the reasons I enjoy regenerative farming, using the resources I already have to improve our soil and in turn the flowers we grow! One of the farm boys was asked today what he did o One of the farm boys was asked today what he did on break this last week, his answer was "dahlias" which does seem to sum it all up:) We (😂 Zach) dug them up and cleaned them, I divided, the boys arranged and dipped the ends in cinnamon, our farmer girl made a ruckus everywhere, and we finished all of them and stored them in 1 weekend!
