Ranunculus are in! That was so easy! Thanks to adding compost and silage starling last fall, Zach prepping the soil, making me a dibbler!!!!!! And helping me plant one side:) so many steps were far from ideal, recent snow prolonged when we could plant, something munching and stealing corms😡🐀, root bound corms from waiting to long to plant...NOTHING about farming is perfect. But the flowers sure can be! Can't wait to see these bloom.

When I say tulips are almost here I mean, they are here, just need a week to mature! We have 15+ varieties that will be blooming in the next month. We go from no harvests to harvesting 4-5 times a day for a few weeks. And then there's the seedling planting and the seed starting and before you know it summer will be here! Watermelon tulips! They just happened to bloom the

Watermelon tulips! They just happened to bloom the day after valentines which meant I enjoyed them myself! And normally if I'm enjoying blooms it's because the boys have picked them out of the compost, as I try to sell every stem we grow. I was stunned at how much they DELIGHTED me!

I know I love flowers, I grow looots of flowers, I arrange flowers, and hopefully I sell flowers. But sometimes I wonder if these flowers really are as great as I say? Do they really bring color and joy to peoples lives? Perk up days? Give a little hope for tomorrow?

Well I was reminded of how much joy and beauty they bring to me as I was able to savor them in my own home for days! They really did surprise me each time I walked into the room and made me smile in the midst of some of our grey days!

A lot of people say "Wow your farm must be so beautiful." And it is just not in the normal way you think of it. It's in getting to watch things grow, flowers and my kids. Cages around the tulips to keep all the neighborhood feral cats out and mud pie making.

Have you ever had fresh local flowers for Valentine's Day? Never? Yah me too...except this year! We have tulips in time this year. The deepest purple doubles (multiple layers of petals) that turn into burgandy as they open, and the perfect light pink doubles from right here in Cashmere, WA. No sprays or flying flowers for miles, just simple pretty farm flowers. Let me know if you would like to be on our email list, I will be sending out info later today!
