The farm is looking gorgeous! Guess what? See all the beautiful color? Ahhhh that means flowers are going to waist and boy does that stress me. I'm working on enjoying the color instead of complaining to myself for not doing better at selling, and being thankful for all that we have accomplished this season already.

First dahlia of the season! It's from a tuber that broke off, then overwintered itself, lived through yards of compost on top of it then compost being taken off after tulips...Zach's a little bitter it's the first one to bloom with no help from us and all the other dahlias take SO MUCH WORK...but I'm happy:) I love overwintering, especially when I don't have to overwinter it😂 It also happens to be one of my top fav varieties!! Happy summer! Can't wait until we get dahlias in all the bouquets this summer, it'll be so soon!

June 21st-
The tangible example of joy and sorrow smashed together...my oldest farmer boys birth day, and my Selah girls heavenly birthday. A day/week to celebrate and remember both. We got to eat a lot of cake, go to a soccer game, show the boys Pike Place for the first time (we off course got sweet peas) open lots of presents, cry a lot and laugh a lot. Thankful to be Mama to all of them! Not pictured Hosea racing to put snapdragons on Selahs grave in the middle of the sprinklers:)

The beauty of gypsophila, or baby's breath:) Simple, sparkly, and cute! What you can't see is that it has grown slightly through the netting, as it's supposed to, to prevent wonky stems, but now the work of untangling it from the netting seems too much, so it will probably stay where it is, safe from picking, just for my enjoying:)

When I was little we would drive over the pass and see them everywhere and dream about them:) But back to real life, see those aphids? I'm on the high alert this time of year for them, so disappointed to find them in my foxgloves but then I found my little friend helping out! The best!

My 94 year old Grama came again this year for Memorial Day, we arranged flowers for the graves, had family dinners, stood by our families flags, and enjoyed the peace that we have because of those who gave their lives for ours, we are truly thankful.

Did you know a lot of flowers need to be dipped in boiling water before resting in fresh cool water before arranging? All of these variety's tend to wilt and do great once prepped correctly. The mint looks like you ran over it until these steps are complete then, it will last for months!
